The equipment will support teaching, research and demonstrations across renewable energy, hydrogen, electrolysis, fuel cells, thermal and power systems, energy storage, smart grids and digital energy management.

Supply and install a high-ion-density reactive ion etcher for silicon oxides and nitrides, configured for 150 mm wafers and capable of precise shallow etching and high-rate deep etching across specified dielectric and mask materials. A 200 mm wafer upgrade kit and one additional identical etcher are options.

It must support optical and electrical performance characterisation, using grating couplers and configurable edge coupling, and electrical measurements in DC and RF up to 40 GHz with probes and/or probe cards. Supports research, development, process qualification and routine characterisation.
